OUR EXPRESSIVE WORSHIP

The Bible describes many ways we can come into the presence of God.

We have no complicated ritual to follow, yet there is direction, flow, and order in our worship.
Our worship is directed to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Worship flows from our spirits as we deeply surrender ourselves to God.
We enjoy a freedom of expression as we worship in spirit and truth.

WHY DO WE STAND WHEN WE SING?
The Bible says they "stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high" (2 Chronicles 20:19, Revelation 7:9).
The Bible also says that we can bow, kneel, or lay prostrate in the presence of the Lord. We stand because that gives great honor in praise and respect to King Jesus, but please feel free to sit and sing whenever you are unable to stand.

WHY DO WE CLAP OUR HANDS AND SING WITH GREAT AFFIRMATION?
The Bible says, "O clap your hands everyone; shout to God with a voice of triumph" (Psalm 47:10).
The clapping of hands expresses our great joy and appreciation for the Lord.

WHY DO WE LIFT OUR HANDS?
The Bible says, "In this way will I bless You while I live - I will lift up my hands in Your name" (Psalm 63:4). "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord" (Psalm 134:2).  "I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath or doubting" (I Timothy 2:8).
Lifted hands express worship, surrender, focus upon God, praise and allegiance to our Lord.
With our hands we can express the glory of His presence

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE TREMBLE AND FALL DOWN AFTER RECEIVING PRAYER?
When God touches us His power flows into us.
Some people may shake or quiver others may fall.
Many times there is no outward effect.
Each person responds differently and is aware of what is going on.

WHY DO WE SING CHORUSES AS WELL AS HYMNS?
The Bible says, "Be filled with the Spirit, speaking in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:18-19).
Hymns express testimony and the great doctrines of the church, while the many choruses express Scripture, or our love to God Himself.

WHY DO WE SOMETIMES HEAR A WORD OF PROPHECY?
These are words inspired by God. "Everyone who prophesies speaks to men to strengthen, encourage, and comfort."(1 Corinthians 14:3).
